Residential Burglaries Increase

Since February 2, 2014 Richland has had 11 residential burglaries where a door has been left open or was unlocked at the time the crime occurred. Several happened during daylight hours.  Items taken from the residences include electronics (flat screen TV's, phones, stereos, tablet computers), cameras, jewelry and assorted other items.

In central Richland a number of vehicles have been prowled and items removed.  Over 80% of the vehicles were unlocked at the time they were entered.

Residents are asked to keep their vehicles and homes locked when they are unattended.  Call 911 if any suspicious people are seen trying doors or approaching houses in unusual ways.
